Ukraine's cyberpolice have successfully extradited a key member of an international hacker group to the United States, marking a significant milestone in cross-border law enforcement cooperation. The 33-year-old suspect, wanted by the FBI, allegedly participated in ransomware attacks causing over $71 million in damages to industrial enterprises across North America and Europe.

The criminal operation employed sophisticated malware to encrypt corporate data systems, demanding cryptocurrency payments for decryption. Authorities seized substantial assets during the investigation, including $576,000 worth of crypto holdings, luxury vehicles, and multiple land parcels. The coordinated operation involved agencies from Ukraine, the U.S., EU nations, Europol, and Eurojust.
